Hence, this utsava bears his name as “Brahmotsavam,” which means “Brahma’s Utsavam.” In Tirumalai, Brahmotsavam is celebrated in the month of Puruttasi. Brahma worshiped Sri Balaji on the banks of the holy Pushkarini in Tirupati as a way to give thanks for the Lord’s protection of mankind. The first and foremost upacharam happens to be Dantadhavanam(brushing), Jihwa Nirlekhana(tongue cleaning), Gandusha(mouth washing), Mukha Prakshalana(cleaning the face), Plota vastra Samarpana(cleaning with towel), and finnaly offered Abhyangana Snanam with Ushnodakam(head bath with warm water). Later the celestial bath with Ksheera(milk), Dadhi(curd), Madhu(honey), Narikelam(coconuts), Haritrodakam(turmeric) and Gandhdakam(sandalpaste) is being offered.
