This print includes Sub Rosa Bakery, Tokyo Market, Alchemy Coffee, Union Market, Black Rabbit Tattoo, Belmont Butchery, Beth Ahabah, James River Greyhounds, Gwar Bar, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, The Quirk Hotel, Diversity Thrift. The print features some of the most distinguished, timeless and underrated establishments and organizations of Richmond. This 11" x 8.5" print of Richmond, Virginia's staples was drawn with pencil, painted with watercolor, then drawn again with fountain pen. As these restaurants have all been affected by the pandemic, I wanted to pay homage to their humbleness and their stories. Richmond, VA is a city of restaurant culture and a community of unique small businesses.
I was inspired to create this as the third in a series of illustrations during the spread of Covid-19.
